This week's Tuesdays with Dorie is Tender Shortcakes chosen by Cathy of The Tortefeasor. I am usually a huge fan of strawberry shortcake, but these shortcakes were not that good. They were too biscuity and not sweet enough. I guess I grew up with shortcake either being those little premade shortcakes from the grocery store, or angel cake, or pound cake. It was nice to try something new, but I'll be sticking with angel food or pound cake in the future.

Oh, bummer you didn't enjoy these! I totally grew up on strawberry shortcake made on pound cake/angel food cake (or the store-bought shortcakes with the convenient indentation for the strawberries!!), and these are definitely a different animal altogether. Your shortcake looks great anyway! Thanks so much for baking along with me this week!
That is how the hubs felt. But I liked the differentness of how we usually eat this dessert. They are a good biscuit alone, tho.
