TWD: French Yogurt Cake with Marmelade Glaze

This week's Tuesdays with Dorie was chosen by Liliana of My Cookbook Addiction. It is definitely a nice start to spring! The recipe called for Lemon Marmelade, but I couldn't find any and knew that Tim and the kids aren't huge lemon fans, so I used Strawberry Jam instead.

There is lemon in the cake and the pairing with the strawberry was really good. The cake by itself reminded me of a lemony pound cake. One of Dorie's suggestions is to pair it with chocolate mousse, so I made that too. I misplaced the recipe after, so I have to find it again, and then will post it. It isn't a "true" mousse, more of a pudding/mousse hybrid. But it was still delicious!

The kids of course didn't like it. They are so picky sometimes it drives me nuts! Tim liked it ok, but didn't love it. I ate half the loaf before I threw the last little bit away, so what does that tell you?

I was so anxious to try it, I tore a corner off before I took the picture. As soon as I ripped it off, I went D'oh! It was just so fragrant and looked so good, I had to take a tiny chunk while it was still cooling.

Ha your littl corner torn off is something I would have done. I love your chocolate moose addition!

You can still tear off a corner as long as it is a bottom corner! I think it still looks pretty awesome!

Ooo - chocolate mousse sounds wonderful with this. And just wait - your kids will realize what they were missing all those years eventually - I did!
